			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Often clients arrive at my class with instructions from their health  professionals to do Pilates.  I feel the IMF programme bridges the gap  from therapist to class.  It is a very useful programme with the  potential to help low grade aches and  pains.</p>
<p>To do the course, the patient must be able to flex and  extend the spine safely.  The course is for people that can safely  attend group exercise style classes and is not for more serious  conditions &#8211; where a specific course of action is required from the  therapist.</p>

<p><strong>Possible class times:</strong></p>
<p><strong>Daytime Monday afternoon approximately 3.30 (1 hour).</p>
<p>Evening Tuesday 7.30-8.30.  (1 hour).</strong></p>

<p>If you are a complete beginner, I am running the IMoveFreely Programme &#8211; something I really recommend if you are new to Pilates.  Please read the information on this site regarding IMF.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align:center;"><strong>Through my years of teaching I have experienced how rewarding Yoga and Pilates can be for many different health issues.</strong></p>
<p>I understand that most people that come to these classes are very stiff and immobile, and maybe they have started to experience some aches and pains as a result. Well may I reassure you, this is absolutely normal in our modern world.</p>
<p>Many of us &#8211; me included &#8211; spend hours a day sat in a chair at a desk, or in the driving seat. Over time, this affects ‘muscle balance&#8217; in our bodies – put simply some muscles are getting too tight, and some are getting too weak. You will learn about how to gradually correct this problem – one of the many benefits of Yoga and Pilates.</p>
<p><strong> “But I&#8217;m not flexible enough to do yoga.”</strong><br />
No matter how stiff you are – Yoga Postures and Pilates exercises can be modified to make them safe and comfortable for everyone.</p>
<p>The truth is &#8211; it is those very people who are not very flexible or mobile that need to do Yoga and Pilates the most . Maybe you have been put off Yoga by watching an intensive DVD, or attending the wrong type of class for you.</p>
<p><strong>Stepping Stones</strong><br />
I have researched and studied many ways to break down and understand these exercises &#8211; to create safe stepping stones for everyone. By bringing both Yoga and Pilates together in the same session, you will learn the differences of the two methods, and how each method can compliment the other.</p>
<p><strong>Respect to the Art</strong><br />
It is important to understand that true ‘Yoga&#8217; isn&#8217;t an exercise regime; it is a fascinating philosophy, giving guidance on how to live a happy and fulfilled life. If you wish to study Yoga in more depth, I will endeavour to recommend suitable classes to you.</p>
<p><strong>My Approach</strong><br />
My class focuses on modified Yoga postures, breathing exercises, Pilates exercises and some classes finish with relaxation and an introduction to meditation.</p>

WHAT EQUIPMENT TO BRING</p>
<p>I supply most of the equipment that we use, but please read the following:</p>
<p>Yoga &amp; Pilates Mats</p>
<p>As we are in close contact with our mat, it is a good idea to bring and use your own Yoga mat for hygiene reasons. If you don&#8217;t wish to buy one just yet, bring a camping mat, or an old piece of carpet underlay.</p>
<p>Yoga mats are so much better than normal mats, as they grip your hands and feet while performing postures. They are also longer than your body – or should be.</p>
<p>A travel style blanket or large towel will be necessary for when we need extra padding.</p>
<p>PLEASE NOTE:</p>
<p>I have some spare mats if you don&#8217;t have anything you can use.</p>
<p>I provide Yoga/Pilates blocks, straps and bands – but bring your own if you prefer.</p>
<p>What To Wear</p>
<p>Wear comfortable fitness style clothing that you can move in – not too loose and baggy as I need to see your posture. </p>
